Old roof off, the huge steel gutter in, and watertight on day one. Tiled, insulated and plastered by the end of day two. Such a well oiled machine. It has completely transformed our cold, condensation-filled, leaky conservatory.
We replaced our polycarbonate roof with a fully insulated tiled roof and plaster ceiling. Fair price, and the quality of the work was outstanding. We asked four companies to quote, and they were the best from the first consultation to completing the job.
My job is to find the flaws in how things are run, so I am trained to spot problems. Commissioning them was a pleasure and everything went smoothly. Clear quote, clear communication, genuine value for money against two other quotes, and it was all done and tidied up well within the timeframes promised. A quality team, well managed.
Honest answers

Will it make the room dark?
You lose some of the overhead glare, not the light. We plan rooflights into the design where they earn their place, so you keep a bright room without the greenhouse effect. If your conservatory faces north we will say so at the survey, and we will tell you honestly if we think a conversion is the wrong call for your room.
Will I get a hard sell?
No. We do not employ commission-only salespeople, so nobody is paid to sit in your kitchen for three hours. You get a clear price and honest advice, not a three-hour pitch or a 'let me call my manager' discount game. If you want to think about it, you think about it.
Will the paperwork be right when I sell?
Converting a conservatory roof turns a structure that was exempt into one that Building Regulations apply to, so the sign-off genuinely matters. We handle the building control side and you get the certificate for your file. We do not do clad-over shortcuts, because they are exactly what causes a problem three years later at the point of sale.
Should I just build an extension instead?
If you want a bigger footprint, an extension is the right answer and we will say so. But it means months of building work and a far bigger budget. If the space is already there and it is only the roof letting it down, a conversion gives you a warm, year-round room in three to five days, for a fraction of that.
How much does a conservatory roof conversion cost?
It depends on the size and shape of your conservatory and the finish you want, so anyone quoting a price before they have seen it is guessing. You get a clear fixed price in writing after a site visit, with no obligation and nothing to pay for the visit.
How long does it take, and how messy is it?
Most conversions take three to five days. Nearly all of the work is outside, the team tidies at the end of every day, and you can carry on using the rest of the house throughout.
