Installation is priced by your pergola size and location once we survey the site, and includes the electrical hook-up by a qualified electrician. There is nothing to pay today to reserve it.
How it works:
- Zero to pay today: checkout reserves your pergola and options. Installation is quoted and arranged separately.
- We call to survey: our team confirms access, the base, your colour and the electrical supply, then books a fitting date.
- Fitted for you: we install the pergola, hardwire it to BS7671, fit any sides, heating and sensors, and set up the controls.
Installation Guide & Rate Card
Installation is carried out by our trusted partner, Syndicate Design and Build (based in Stockport). The Fifth Room Limited supplies your pergola and secures your booking; Syndicate handle scheduling, site queries and aftercare, and installation fees are paid directly to them.

Important installation requirements & terms
- Manual vs. electric models & power supply. Our team fully assemble and connect all electrical components, wiring the integrated lights, motors and heaters into the pergola’s control box. You must provide a safe, suitable power supply (an outdoor socket, extension lead, or professionally laid armoured cable) at the pergola’s footprint before the team arrive. Installers do not lay cables across your garden or connect to your home’s consumer unit.
- Level surface required. For the roof louvres to operate smoothly and the internal drainage to function, the surface must be completely flat and level. If the team arrive to a steep gradient or notably uneven surface, the installation may be aborted for safety, incurring a failed delivery charge.
- Standard bolt-down (£80). Applies to surfaces such as timber decking, composite decking, solid concrete, or traditional paving slabs (for example sandstone). It covers the specialist hardware and time required to safely anchor the pergola to a structurally sound base.
- Porcelain surcharge (£120). Drilling into porcelain requires specialist water-cooling techniques, extended labour time, and consumable diamond-tipped drill bits. This surcharge covers the additional time and equipment required to carry out the work safely.
- Porcelain & ceramic tile waiver. Drilling into porcelain or ceramic tiles carries an inherent risk of chipping, cracking or shattering, particularly where there are hollow gaps beneath (such as ‘dot and dab’ laying). By requesting a bolt-down on these surfaces, you accept this risk. Neither The Fifth Room Limited nor Syndicate Design and Build can be held liable for cracked tiles, nor will they cover the cost of replacement tiles or patio re-laying.
- Unsafe substrates. If the team assess that your patio or decking is not structurally sound enough to safely anchor the pergola (for example rotten joists, loose slabs, or insufficient concrete depth), they reserve the right to refuse the bolt-down. The pergola will be assembled but left unanchored, and securing it then remains your responsibility.
Booking & deposit
A £250 deposit is paid directly to Syndicate Design and Build one week before your scheduled installation. Payment details are shared with you when you book.
What's included in the base price?
The full aluminium frame and posts, the motorised louvred roof and motor, warm-white 24V LED to all four sides, concealed drainage through the posts, and all fixings. Rated to Wind Class 6 and Snow Zone 3. Any of the 11 Huescape colours with no upcharge (louvres and frame can differ), and a 10-year structural warranty (2 years on the electrics).
Sides, heating and sensors are added in the next steps. Colour is confirmed with your surveyor.
How is it wired?
The Custom is hardwired to BS7671 by a qualified electrician (unlike the plug-in Select). Your installation includes a weatherproof junction box and RCD protection. You provide a suitable mains supply near the pergola; our team handles the rest.
How do I measure my space?
Measure in metres, with a tape and a helper.
Width: left to right across the frontage (1m to 4.5m).
Length: from the house or back edge outwards (up to about 6m; the louvre count sets the exact step).
Leave 5cm to 10cm clearance each side and check for gutters or cables overhead. You need a solid, level base. Not sure? Call us on 0161 524 9932 and we will work it out with you.
Which should I choose?
Sliding Glass Doors: 8mm toughened glass on a sliding track, so a side opens right up in summer.
Glass Screen: a fixed 8.8mm laminated glass panel - light and view, out of the wind and rain.
Aluminium Screen: a solid, private wall for a boundary or an overlooked side.
Zip Blind: a screen that drops for shade and shelter and retracts away.
Also available and priced at survey: polycarbonate and aluminium-and-glass screens, 5-channel and single-stack door systems, other blind drop heights, and wedge gable infills.
How is the price worked out?
Custom sides are made to your exact opening, so we cannot pin the penny online. The figure shown takes your pergola's size, rounds each side up to the nearest standard panel, and uses a typical specification. It is a genuine guide, not the final quote. Your surveyor measures on site and confirms the exact size, material, colour and price before anything is made.
Description
Built to Your Millimetre, Not Our Nearest Size
Most pergolas come in sizes and you pick the closest one. The Custom is made to your measurements, anywhere from 1m to 4.5m wide and 1.69m to 6.01m deep, up to 3m high. Awkward corner, tight boundary, odd-shaped patio: it gets built to fit, and we survey it before anything is made.
A Roof That Reads the Weather
Rotate the louvres up to 110 degrees by remote, or let the optional rain and snow sensor close them the moment it starts, and the wind sensor open them when it gusts. Rated to EN13561 Wind Class 6 and Snow Zone 3, on a 6063-T6 aluminium frame.
Freestanding, Lean-To or Coupled
Stand it alone in the garden, lean it against the house, or couple several bays end to end and side by side to cover a much larger space. Add an infra-red heater, motorised zip blinds or RGB perimeter lighting and it becomes a room you use in February.
Surveyed, Supplied and Installed
We measure your space, build to it, and install it ourselves. One point of contact from the first visit to the final handover.
